Spartans stay undefeated with win over Oakwood

Winless Oakwood put up a fight, but the Waynesville Spartans pulled away in the second half to improve to a perfect 7-0 on the season with a 42-21 win over the visiting Lumberjacks on Friday night.Luke Creditt scored on runs of 10 and 91 yards in the third quarter as the Spartans, who led only 21-14 at the half, broke open the game. Creditt, who rushed for 208 yards on eight carries, also scored on a 17-yard run in the first quarter and threw for 86 yards on 9-of-17 passing.

The 8.325 average also puts them at the top of all Division IV teams in the state.
